AdVaes has been selected to join the EU Score oversight committee
We are delighted to announce that AdVaes has been selected to sit on the supervisory committee for EU Score, a new tool designed to promote transparency and responsible IT procurement, in both B2B and B2C contexts, in the interests of the EU.
🔸 What is the EU Score?
It is a citizens’ movement whose aim is to champion a united, strong and independent tech sector within the European Union.
In practical terms, it is an independent, non-profit collaborative platform that assigns a score designed to best reflect the positive impact of using a technological solution, whether European or not. In some ways, it follows the same principle as Nutri-Score, which is already in place in many EU countries. The aim is to promote transparency and responsible purchasing, in both B2B and B2C contexts, in the interests of the EU.
🔸 What criteria currently make up the EU Score?
The criteria currently used relate to the company’s registered office, workforce and jobs, shareholding structure, the type of suppliers selected, compliance with EU values, the cloud service providers used, and the standards and certifications obtained (SecNumCloud, ISO, DPA, etc.)...
AdVaes will help define an initial set of ‘E’ criteria for the environment (going beyond ‘ES’ by incorporating the social dimension, and then ‘ESG’ to include governance) along with the associated underlying factors, as well as helping to provide relevant data (in partnership and where possible).
🔸 What will our roles be within this committee?
To proactively suggest areas for improvement to the EU Score and to vote on those proposed by other committee members. Indeed, the criteria selected for the EU Score, as well as their weightings, are not set in stone: they evolve regularly based on feedback from members (clients, tech companies, funds, independent third parties such as AdVaes, etc.).
🔸 How is this supervisory committee organised?
It is structured into different panels, each contributing its own expertise (business sector, type of organisation, country, etc.). AdVaes will contribute its expertise more specifically on ESG issues specific to the tech sector, as well as the cloud and AI.
